We are a digital product and design studio in Accra, Ghana. We build our own products, publish research and journalism, and help clients turn complex ideas into clear, useful websites. Everything we make is grounded in the belief that good technology should be simple, accessible, and built for the people who actually use it.
Our vision
We started Utopia Group because we saw too many important problems being ignored — in education, in information access, in how local businesses show up online. Everything we build starts from one question: does this actually help someone?
Our journey
Utopia UGX Group Ltd, known as Utopia Group, was founded in 2022 in Accra, Ghana. Our first project was One Saharan, a tech and gaming publication we launched in 2023 and shut down in 2026 after a Google Core Update wiped out our traffic. It failed, and it taught us everything.
Those lessons shaped everything that followed. Asetena Pa came next, a digital publication covering technology, lifestyle, and culture in Ghana. Then came myPathway.app, an admissions platform that helps Ghanaian students check their WASSCE eligibility and discover programs that match their results. After that, Sronu: a free study app for JHS students preparing for the BECE, now on the App Store and Google Play. Most recently, we launched Open Ordinal, a bilingual research archive for African economic and social data.
Alongside our own products, we build websites for clients: academics, agencies, travel companies, and community organizations.
